Bryan Poff
Licensing & Compliance Consultant
Bryan Poff has over 20 years of experience in the alcohol industry and has licensed over 1000 locations in 12 states, 170 Counties and over 300 cities. Bryan has the experience of both as a state regulator (TABC), a corporate in house Licensing & Compliance Manager and an independent industry consultant.
Bryan’s father is a former member of the Texas State Legislature that voted for “Liquor by the drink” which created the TABC Mixed Beverage Permit and promoted the restaurant and bar industry as we know it today. Bryan’s first professional position after college was in the Licensing Division of the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission as an Accounts Examiner IV reviewing the supporting documentation provided with TABC applications. This gave Bryan a unique perspective of how the industry ran and was organized from national chains to mom & pop businesses.
After leaving the TABC Bryan worked on staff for multiple restaurant and entertainment companies including Fired Up, Inc, and Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas. During this time Bryan was also elected to President of the Greater Austin Restaurant Association (GARA) and served on the board of the Texas Restaurant Association.
Bryan has also served as first President of the National Association of Licensing & Compliance Professionals (NALCP), and on the advisory board of the American Beverage Institute. Lastly, Bryan received the Best Practices Award with NALCP from the National Conference of State Liquor Administrators (NCLSA).
In 2013, Bryan joined Texas Petition Strategies where he consulted everyone from publicly traded corporations, mom & pop businesses, various Chambers of Commerce and City & County officials on
Local Option Elections, the process by which communities change their wet/dry status for various types of alcohol sales and service.
Bryan has worked with everything from restaurants, bars, retirement communities, movie theaters, bed & breakfasts, convenience stores, resorts, marinas, wineries, hotels, breweries, importers/wholesalers, package stores and event/catering companies.
Texas Alcoholic Beverage Consulting and Bryan Poff are proud to have worked with many of the most successful and recognizable names in the industry.
